Casework Services

“It takes a village to raise a child.” – Anonymous

Holly Area Youth Assistance provides low-cost, confidential, short-term, family-centered casework services and referral services for local young people (under the age of 18) and their families.  The focus is on the whole family and not just the incident that brings the family to Youth Assistance.

Diverse casework services are available for clients who are referred by our local Holly community area law agencies, school employees, parents, as well as community members.  This program is sponsored by the Oakland Circuit Court-Family Division as well as the Village of Holly, Holly Township, Groveland Township, Rose Township, Springfield Township, and Holly Area Schools.  All are working together in an attempt to provide services to eliminate the need for formal court involvement. These services are offered on a confidential, voluntary, and cost-free basis.

Like other HAYA services, casework services aspire to reduce the incidence of delinquency, abuse, and neglect through volunteer involvement.

Research shows that the types of support and interventions provided by Youth Assistance programs are very effective.

Two 3-year longitudinal studies conducted by independent contractors determined that 92% of the families Youth Assistance works with do not go on to have additional contact with the court.

The program is most successful when everyone in the family puts in the effort, but the rewards are well worth it!

Assessment

The caseworker will initially meet with the youth and their families to explore the issues responsible for the referral. The caseworker may, review records, or talk with other involved professionals. The assessment is crucial to developing an appropriate treatment plan.

Referrals

In certain instances, the referral problem is a symptom of underlying difficulties of a more complex or long-term nature. In such cases, HAYA has contacts with an array of services in the surrounding community and can refer to an agency that provides long-term care.

Affordable Help

All youth assistance casework services and referral services are offered to local qualifying Holly Area residents without charge and are voluntary. HAYA also prides itself on being highly confidential. We care for our youth on so many levels, let us help yours positively succeed.
