Free Vape 101 Training: Understand the Risks of Vaping

Vape 101 is a free, one-hour training that educates attendees about the dangers of vaping, including health risks and youth usage. Open to parents, community members, and students, it offers multiple sessions from February to May. Register online, and receive a link a day before the event for participation.

New Year = New Email Address

The Holly Area Youth Assistance (HAYA) has updated its contact email to HAYA@hask12.org, effective 2026, to enhance communication and youth services. The phone number and other contact details remain the same. For questions or issues regarding this change, patrons are encouraged to reach out to the office.

HAYA Board Meeting Update and Fundraiser Tonight

The December HAYA Board of Directors meeting is rescheduled for December 11th at the Holly Township Library at 3:30 p.m. Attend the Holly Moose Lodge tonight from 6 to 7 p.m. for a 50/50 raffle, benefiting HAYA, and the Queen of Hearts lottery. Agenda will be sent on December 8th.

Why Attendance Matters: Understanding Chronic Absenteeism

Chronic absenteeism affects one in ten students nationwide, leading to significant academic challenges and increased dropout rates. Missing 10 percent of school days, or 2-3 days monthly, can hinder reading mastery in third-graders, cause course failures in sixth-graders, and ultimately result in high school dropouts, particularly impacting low-income students.
