Why Attendance Matters: Understanding Chronic Absenteeism

Chronic absenteeism affects one in ten students nationwide, leading to significant academic challenges and increased dropout rates. Missing 10 percent of school days, or 2-3 days monthly, can hinder reading mastery in third-graders, cause course failures in sixth-graders, and ultimately result in high school dropouts, particularly impacting low-income students.

2025 Jacobson-Quinn Toy Project Applications Open Now

Applications for the 2025 Jacobson-Quinn Toy Project are now open through HAYA, ensuring every child in Holly receives a Christmas present. Funded by community generosity, the program assists qualifying youth based on financial need. Applications are confidential and due by December 1st, with gift distribution planned for December 14th.
